Some of you know that I have adopted my grandson. He came to me from the foster care system after a period of abuse and neglect so severe he nearly lost his life. Not a day goes by that I don't see the pain of his past in his eyes. Even though he is so young, he knows, in his heart that things are not as they should have been. Yes, he knows I love him, we all do, but there is still a void in his heart - one, I'm afraid that I'll never be able to fill no matter how hard I try.
